Kansas Flood

Post by Fish » Mon Aug 17, 2009 1:27 pm

Sounds like a blues song, but it's the real deal. KC area has a bunch of water this morning and a very active forecast.. I ain't advising any one to add Kansas City to your paddling vacation list, but I was surfing one feakin sweet, fluffy wave-hole with the locals on Sunday morning at Mill Cr. Oh, yeah, I am a local here now... almost forgot... Also looking to try to huck an 8 foot drop somewhere in North KC this week. It could happen...

Anyway, looking forward to some big weekends in AR this fall. Just get some water in the creeks and I'll be down there. I'll see if I can influence my namesake storm to re-route to landfall in Houston and then kick out over the Ozarks. I'm a big name these days in weather.

Just saw this headline on CNN: "Bill predicted to strengthen, turn north"

Not sure about the strengthen part, but true, Bill has turned north.

James, find a picture that is on the internet somewhere (can't just be on your computer). Right click on image, scroll down and click on properties and copy URL.

In your posting on the message board, be sure to have space before and after the image. Click on the IMG box in the toolbar above the text box (fourth from the right). You will see img surrounded by brackets. Be sure your cursor is between the interior brackets and paste the properties.

Your post should like:

Easy peasy!

Here's an old postcard of it with water.

Not sure KC is ready for the full ACC monty just yet. I keep trying to tell them that it's all about the money. I can see big time fund-raising opportunities with some killer KC BBQ and Boulevard  at Canoe School... Cha-ching!

Get some charred ends at Smokestack or any of the pork

This is one of my favorite BBQ spots in KC and there are many good ones there.
