Earlier this year there was a pot hole that started eating pickup trucks on the road to the Lee Creek take out. Has anyone been up there in the last couple of weeks to see if the road has been repaired?

Report from up north is that the trees have been removed and the truck eating hole has been filled up with rock. Dave did we help with the purchase of rock if not we all want to give the forest service a big hardy ATTA BOY for taking care of this problem for us boaters. Lets remember to do our part and show up for the clean up on Sept. 12. Thanks again to the Forest Service. Kahuna

We made contact with the Ranger and made the offer to purchase some gravel. He replied back that they had already made the repairs! I just wasn't sure what else needed to be done up there to restore it to its glory!
If more gravel is needed to dress up the road we can make the offer again to help out. What we have done in the past is to purchase 4 or 5 loads of gravel and the Forest Service has taken a dozer up there to work over the roads and parking areas.
The Northwest and River Valley Chapters would kick in $200 - $400 each and we normally hit up the ACC for $200 - $400 to cover the costs. This works out very well for everyone involved.
As Kahuna, Flapjack, the Gauley Llama, will tell ya, we have a huge investment of time and money in the access points on Lee Creek as well as a lot of pride in our efforts up there. Over the last couple of years there has been a lot of damage due to floods and other factors. So, I'm with Flapjack, Thanks to the Forest Service for helping maintain this access and let's get out September 12 and do our part.

Absolutely
! We need to support the cleanup and make a good show; I won't be able to be there Sept 12th, but will continue to cleanup whenever I visit Lee Creek. I'll be hiking up there next weekend and will also venture out that way to see all the nice work I've heard about.

A bit off this topic, but what's the status of the mud-hole-from-hell on the Spirits Cr. shuttle? Still have to go around the long way to shuttle (if there's ever any water in the creek of course)?
