Marble Falls sewer problem issue

Post by dogpatch » Sun Aug 02, 2009 1:36 pm

The Harrison Daily reports a major problem with a sewer system issue at Marble Falls (the old Dogpatch), creating a pollution problem into Mill Creek which flows into the Buffalo just below Pruitt.

According to the article, there is difficulty getting regulatory agencies to get involved in solving the problem. Is anyone in the know on top of this one? Debbie D, you know anything more?

Thanks for posting. I did not know about this one. It looks like the regulatory agencies are involved but the community is having trouble finding the financial resources to fix the problem. If they can't fix it by August 8th the ADEQ and the Health Department will probably have to shut them down.

Unfortunately, what the guy in the article said when he called an emergency meeting and only 10 people showed up is true, “Most people, as long as they can flush their toilets and pay their bills, don’t care,”.

Maybe when they can't flush their toilets, they will get up and do something.

I will check with ADEQ after August the 8th for an update on the situation.
