EFLB

Post by justin.payne » Sat Jul 25, 2009 7:56 pm

I have been wanting to go hike East Fork of the Little Buffalo. Does anyone know the landowner at the put in? Would he care to let me hike it? How hard would it be?

I'm acquainted with the Wilkinson's who own the house at the end of the road. Through the years they have always been kind to allow us to park in the lower part of their yard. If they are at home we always let them know who we are and that we are headed to the creek - that being obvious with our funny white water clothes and boats. They've always been friendly and welcoming.

I would think if you let them know who you are they wouldn't mind you parking there. The road down from their house is in very bad shape so you can't drive below their house. However, it is a public road, marked on county maps and the Natl Forest maps.

Enjoy the hike.

Shelby, I was talking to Justin tonight and this boy is chomping at the bit to run the EFLB. I say next chance we get, we take him down. I can't think of a better person (well maybe one other) that who I would want to run something with my first trip down. You make anyone's first time to run anything an enjoyable experience. I will bring the boater, you bring the water. What say you?
