The last two "Phase 1" public meetings for the Buffalo River Management Plan will be this Monday and Tuesday:

Arkansas Game and Fish Commission #2 Natural Resources Drive
Little Rock, AR

The format could best be described as "come in an browse". There are several information station, each manned by experts working in the specific are of interest, for example, "natural resources" or "visitor services". (my titles may not be correct, but you get the idea...)

It is not necessary to be there for the entire window of time; come in at any time, but allow an hour or more to get the true "feel" for the event. Perhaps one of the most valuable parts of the process is that you get the chance to meet the players personally, and put faces with names. For example, I got to meet Kevin Cheri, the new Park Superintentent, and was very impressed. He seemed to have a true love for the resource, and was extremely professional in the way he was addressing comments from all corners. (And believe me, some of the comments WILL make you smile or giggle - you may or may not agree, but I for one do not see "more WiFi" as a pressing need for National Park management...)

Couldn't make the meeting at Game & Fish - however, I did e-mail my comments in tonight - mostly covered the T.P. blossom issue.

Mike and I and David Mac were at the Buffalo meeting in LR. Others from the paddling community may have come in after we left. Many of the folks who attended were from the horse rider community. We left some comments, and hope to attend further sessions when the draft plans are put together for comment.
