UALR POOL

Post by wet 2 woody » Tue Jul 07, 2009 7:55 am

I got over last week to the UALR campus around 6pm. I learned the campus access is one way in from two different directions....and one of them leads to the athletic center where the access points have gates.....soooooo

I will try again this week to .....make it to the UALR Roll-a-rama by:

1) Getting there before 5pm.

2) Getting exact and specific directions about how to get to the pool entry point where the boats must be washed off.

3)Obtaining a name and contact # of someone that will be there, whom I can call with cell phone who will lead me to the designated area.

I have been several times in the past and have never had a problem finding my way to the pool. I did however jump a few curbs to park close enough so that I did not have to carry my boat a gear a qtr mile. Better plan would be to drop off gear and then go park
Once on the inside...everyone was extremely helpful, friendly and went out of their way to lend a hand. Pool instruction, NOC DVD, and persistence on a nearby lake finally landed me a pretty solid roll.

PS....many have told me that good bracing technique is more important to learn first so that you do not flip to begin with. I tend to agree now that I have paddled for a few months)
