Did I hear mention of Rocky Mtn. Grill? Well, I want to come but Gary says he has some work he needs to do Friday. Bet he would drive to Hot Springs for Rocky Mtn. afterwards though.

Gary won't be able to make it, but probably for dinner later. I will though. Are you and Marlo going Jim?

Lupe,
Sounds Great, I"d like to tag along.
Exactly, where will you guys meet up to arrange the shuttle.....at put-in or at take out?

Re: Friday Fun: Lower Lil Mo 6/26
Hi all,
If anyone wants to meet to carpool from Little Rock, I'll be meeting Mike Coogan at 11:45am at the back of the K-Mart parking lot off of Rodney Parham just off 430. Please post if you want to meet up so we know to look for you! If others want to plan a caravan starting in Benton or Hot Springs to carpool, please add a post with a place and meeting time for folks in that area!
Let's all plan to meet at 2:15pm at the 13th Street bridge which is the take out point. Limited parking space, so be mindful of how you position vehicles there! We'll consolidate boats and people and drive up to the Narrows Dam off hwy 19 from there...ready to "go with the flow" when the siren sounds at 3pm!
Directions: From Little Rock, we generally take 30 to Arkadelphia exit, then take 26 all the way to Murfreesboro. 26 becomes "13th Street" so just stay on it until you get to the river! We usually take out on river left (so don't cross the bridge over the river). Last year we had a "tree issue" developing at the take out on river left, so we'll take a look when we get there to make sure we'll be able to safely eddy out there on river left, depending on if that leaning tree has finally washed away or what not (current is fast there, so missing the eddy at the take out = a bushwack through the grass, brush and weeds = not a good idea!
)
Captain Aleve is going to check the flow from this week and possibly dig up a number to the dam operator to double check they are still on target for a 3pm release, but barring any additional posts, assume these times are final!
See you all there! Should be a fun afternoon!

Anyone interested in a trip to Rocky Mtn. Grill on Pearcy is welcome to come. It is really worth it, the food. Probably wouldn't be that bad of a drive from Murfreesboro area. Pearcy is west of Hot Springs on Hwy 70\

Big Fun Friday ahead. Meet me and Heather at K-Mart near the shaved ice stand, in plain view next to Rodney Parham Road. Here's a link to a description of the river:

I talked to the Corps at the dam today; they said they have been releasing on schedule (as usual, most of the time; schedule can be found through the link above). Heat has never been a factor on the cold water.

Yes - fun day on the Lil Mo! Those dam released waters sure do feel good in this hot, hot weather!
Barring anything unexpected at work, I expect to make the same trip this coming Thursday...3 generator release starts at 3pm. Will start new thread!

Hear! Hear!
Great trip; a good time was had by all.
Thank you Gary for the shuttle.
Now that I know where the take out is, I promise not to be late EVER again (on this river). I'll start reading the direction ahead of time and will keep cell phone within ear shot.

We'll be there - David and Faith Posey from Batesville - we're gonna stay at the Arlington at HotSprings tonight and drive on down thursday - looking forward to meeting all you guys! I'll be paddling a Wavesport Habitat 75 and my wife will be in a Riot 55 - she practiced her wet exit in the pool this morning.
