I was thinking of heading to the Rockport for the first time. Anyone planning on being there mid-afternoon? I could use lot's of pointers....
Does Entergy release water there every day or just weekends?
Thanks!!!

I am sure you will find someone down there most every day on the weekends. I plan to be there late afternoon as well. I will be working with another newbie and you can join us if you wish.
Yes, Entergy will be releasing water.

I'm the newbie! See y'all there! Do something amazing and I'll take your picture. (Ted, I'm coming down a little early to play photographer before I play kayaker playing.)

Newby report: Rockport rocks. I didn't really understand what all the fuss is about until I got into the middle of it. I'm new at this, but not a total beginner. There were parts of Rockport I dare not venture into yet -- and one part I ventured into but shouldn't have. Great place for someone at my level to practice ferrying, moving-water rolls, and moderate surfing. Plenty of room to grow.
Many thanks to Ted Smethers for being my guide and teacher today.
