Cadron Creek Float - Tomorrow Saturday June 6th
Re: Cadron Creek Float - Tomorrow Saturday June 6th
Great 11 mile paddle today. Nice section with the high bluffs. Enjoyed meeting some new people and some we haven't seen in awhile. Thanks Cowper and Debbie for assisting with the shuttle. Glad you made it along Cowper for the paddle in that longggggggggggggggggggggggggggggggggg
boat. The best weather today and the level was starting out around 2.5 feet.
I will let Jim chime in on more details when he has a chance.

Re: Cadron Creek Float - Tomorrow Saturday June 6th
Man, what a nice trip yesterday :) More than any post I could make calling on paddlers to float, the beautiful sunny day and wonderful section of the Cadron did their own bidding! And what a group we had! It was so nice to see such a turn-out, to see old friends, and meet new ones!
At the outset, I must thank Cowper and Debo for turning out to help me with shuttle plans, and later on in the trip, the pleasant surprise that some benevolent soul had trimmed the one tree top just prior to the rapid with the big rock, thank you both!
We had about twenty folks along yesterday although two of the boats at the start elected to proceed the main group early on. The water level of about 2.50 feet was very nice and actually made a better float than I might have expected. I think I'd like to try and catch this 11 mile jewel again, at maybe 3 feet if possible. No carnage yesterday... in light of having at least one new kayaker along. With some initial, trepidation about regular kayaks, Marsha Martin made her first trip yesterday, and just did wonderfully! I've had past students who couldn't have missed 'The Rock of Gibralter' as smoothly as she.
After 'The Rock' we all had a nice riverside lunch before resuming the float. Then, sometime a little later, just when we thought we were on our own in the wilderness, I spied a long green boat I didn't recgonize,
until I saw that 'impish grin' of our friend Cowper who decided to rejoin us after shuttle duties! As I say, what a day! There were so many lush green avenues, bluff vistas each with a riot of bright yellow Tick Seed Coreopisis, rapids, and good fellowship. Thank you all! I'm pretty tired today but yesterday was just a pleasure for Marlo and me.
Frank, Mark, and Wayne, I certainly hope to get to float with you guys again!
Best Regards

I can't believe I had to miss such a great float. Mike and I were actually both grounded to helping our parents this weekend.... we talked about trying to make it .... so many good friends, a beautiful day, had planned on floating for 5 days last weekend and this past week ... didn't get our boats wet once. Responsibilities called instead. So sorry we missed this trip too.
Glad you had such a great response and trip. I'm sure Karl would like for me to have taken pictures of his floating trip!
Catch you all next time. Thanks for the report.
