Dierks THIS weekend (June 6th and 7th)
Ok guys an gals. Sites 10 and 11 are saved for yall. Also around the pavilion can be used. The rest of the campground is full up at this time. I could have let one of the sites go today but told them NOPE! I am thinking about leaving some firewood behind the pavilion for your use. Have to do it discretely. I will give you guys firewood just don't come and get it when I am not there, other folks will get the idea that they can help them self's! Remember I will be gone all day on Fri. Will check with you guys when I get in.

Thank You SO MUCH!!!!! This is Adam( the guy with the 1ton from La), the girls and I will be up there Friday. We are having a cookout this weekend, not sure when it is. Your wife and yourself will have to come and join us for a burger or what ever Harlan is cooking.

Re: Dierks THIS weekend
Last I heard was Harlan was bringing the grill for Saturday night, but I think everyone is supposed to bring whatever they want to throw on the grill and some sides. However, I don't know for sure - I'll let Harlan chime in!

For gosh sakes don't forget the bug spray! They are bad here! I know the LA folks won't need the stuff, they are used to this! All kidding aside what would you guys want us to bring?

Re: Dierks THIS weekend
Bill,
I am the camp ground host at horseshoe bend campground. I can speak from the reservation end of your question. I have reserved two camp sites. #10 and 11 plus around the pavilion. Who ever gets there first can take the caution tape down and set up camp. There is supposed to be only two tents up per camp site but I have gotten approval for more to be set up. There is plenty of room on these two sites plus around the pavilion for lots of tents. All other camp sites are taken at this time. The cost per site is $11.00. I think that any one not on those sites will probably pay a day use fee and that will suffice. If it really gets crowed there I have some other possible sites that you can talk to me about.
I will be gone all day on Fri. I will check in with those that are here late Fri. night. As far as new paddlers I think the group here can speak to that but what I have seen is that many seem to go to the swimming hole are. It has a cable with floats and there is a nice eddy there. Sabrina gave my granddaughter lessons there over the Memorial Day weekend. Some folks do float from the dam to the hwy 70 bridge, if i am wrong you guys that have done this please correct this, most play in the three holes. Hole three seems to be the favorite from what I have seen. If you check this site and find the treads on Dierks you can find Youtube vids that you can watch.
Let me know if I can help,
