Rafting The Ocoee.

Hey Folks,

I have a Rafting Trip coming up.
I have everything booked for my group. Lodging & guides.
I've never been in the area & I was hoping to get some suggestions on places to eat and whatever sights there are to see.
If you can provide any of your favorites I'd be grateful.

Well if your good at throwing ropes, go set at Humongous. If you want to see some throwing down go to Hell Hole. Good eats, Dam Deli and the Gondolier(spelling??) You could drive on up to the Nantahala and go hiking or just hanging out around the place is nice too. Theres just to much to list to do around there. Im sure others will chim in. Have Fun Be Safe.

definetly check out the ocoee dam and deli. One of the only places ive been where you can watch kayaking on four different Tvs. While eating a great in expensive meal. definetly check it out. mamas italian bistro was great too. the upper section of the ocoee is beautiful big water.great place to hang out and watch some swimmers.

Boyds Gap is a really Scenic outlook. About 1 mile east of the upper put in. If you make it over to the Natahala there is a place called Herbs on HWY 64.Weird location in the middle of no where but on a Friday or a Saturday be ready to wait. Pizza by the River on the Natahala is a great place to stop on your way down the river, order your pie, run the rest of the river and it will be waiting for you along with a fire and some local flavor. There are many miles of forest service roads you can access by crossing the river at ocoee Powerhouse No. 1(I think) Just look for the Thunder Rock campground signs. This is area is also one of the largest Black bear preserves in TN. The further back in the mountains you drive the better your odds of seeing one. There is also a ranger station at the bottom of Chillhowee Mt. awsome veiws of Parksville lake from the top of one of the tallest mountains in the gorge.
