Red Dirt Chapter meeting

Hi all, the Red Dirt chapter of the ACC is having a meeting Tuesday April 19th at the Deep Duece resturant and pub in Okc after work around 5:30pm. We are going to be holding office elections and dicusions on the general goings on of the club and where we want to head in the future as well as having some food and some . I am going to put my name in the hat for chapter president this year. I will post on the board the out come of the elections an the general minutes of the meeting. Wish me luck.

This meeting is not just for white water paddlers. All areas of paddling are going to be discussed, from kayak fishing, rec kayaking, learning white water skills, advanced white water, boat ball and just paddling in general. If you dont have a kayak, come anyway, there are lots of people who would love to help you start a paddling addiction!!

If Matt Woodson is coming, perhaps he can let us in on any plans for a white water park in OKC and how we can help make this happen.... That would get you Arkansas paddlers over here to OKlahoma, soon to be the white water meca of the US!!

Also up for discussion, does anyone want to go the the Buffalo River or on a nice river campout (wherever the water is) over Memorial Day weekend?

THANKS to everyone who was able to make it to the ‘Red Dirt’ Chapter meeting last night at the Deep Duece Grill, in OKC. If you were unable to make it last night here is a quick overview of the issues discussed and we hope to see you at one of the upcoming events!

ACC Red Dirt Chapter Officers for 2009-2010:
President: Terry DeMoe
Vice President: Lorn VanSteenburg
Secretary/Treasury: Joanna DeMoe

We had 12 paddlers attend last nights meeting and join in some fun paddling discussion. Three became ‘new dirt’ that evening by turning in their applications on site, welcome Jeff Treywick, Walt Treywick, and Angela Hudson-Sherrill. Three more paddlers took home applications and will be hopefully mailing then in soon to become ‘new dirt’ in the Red Dirt Chapter, thanks for coming James Lee, Andrew Hanscom, and Matt Hignite! Several paddlers (including me  ) were astonished to realize that their membership had lapsed (must be all the water on the brain )and have pledged to renew. Any ‘old dirt’ members please check and renew your ACC Red Dirt Paddler status and if necessary PLEASE renew your memberships ASAP, its time to get the Oklahoma Red Dirt flowing again!

BOATBALL and ROLL SESSIONS (SUNDAYS 1-3pm) UCO Pool, Edmond OK. Anyone want to play some great boatball or learn to roll?Join Matt Woodson at the UCO Pool on Sundays throughout the summer. Come to learn the exciting game of boatball and try out for a kayak polo team! Boatball is a great way to learn better kayaking skills while having fun in fun game setting. Practice and play to be continued at various lakes throughout the summer.
