Bubba Goo turned one year old on May 11th, 2009. We had wanted to take him floating sometime but with all the great rain I had priorities set elsewhere. Finally on Sunday May 17th we got to take him on the Big Piney.
Bubba liked being in the bottom of the boat until he got splashed and soaked.
He’s always been really good about staying close to momma. He’s a ladies man and he was on Gravel Bar patrol at every gravel bar.
Ten Hut. His favorite spot was on the right side gunnel or Belinda’s lap.
When we caught up with the ARG Big Piney patrol of mid-central Pope County, Bubba got to meet some big dogs. He sniffed ‘em all over and then started making friends with all the ladies. After he played hisself out on the gravel bar we caught him and coaxed Marcell into taking a group photo for us.
We took a short break and did one of the little side stream hikes up to a tiny waterfall in the shade. Bubba can’t climb over the big boulders and he isn’t much of a hiking dog but I think he liked the scenery as long as we carried him.
We had a great trip. Bubba wore himself out and slept the whole ride him and napped the rest of the evening. The level on the Piney was just right for his first jaunt.
