Cadron from 65 to 285....
I purchased a kayak two weeks ago and wondered if this is a good local run to begin "practicing". Looks like a good shuttle...how flat is it? Ozark Whitewater says 10 miles...I've done the run which ends at the Hwy 65 bridge above Greenbriar....or option 2 is the UALR pool this afternoon to develope my roll...Does anyone know if it is available today?

It is about 10 miles, and with some long pools. I like it best when the level is over 3.5ft.. At over 4 ft today, level would be good as long as you have some fair boat control. If you didn't have any problem on the upper section, this one shouldn't be anymore challenging. Figure 4 hours or more time.

No pool today: http://www.arkansascanoeclub.com/mb/vie ... =5&t=12639" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
If you are ready to try something harder than the Cadron (slightly, still in Class II to II+ range) then you might want to join this group:

Couldn't tell from your post if you had someone to paddle with today, but if not, I would note that paddling with a group is still safer than paddling an easier river by yourself.
They leave LR at 10, so there is still time to catch them.

Gentlemen...
Thanks for the info and invite...I alas...must work a little this am. A friend is talking about going along...and I would not attempt an unknown creek alone in an unfamiliar boat. I have spent many hours running the BigPiney in my inflatable kayak (pics on Facebook/Moores site)....but a hard boat has got to be more difficult.
I met a young man in Fort Smith 2 weeks ago and bought his Wavesport Diesel 75. I need to get with an experienced group of "yakkers" and do some learning. We'll definitely get together in the future...as I consider joining the ACC to benefit from your resources and contribute to your worthy org. I love to paddle!

OK,
Come to the pool next Wednesday evening and we'll start working on that roll.
