Stolen Canoe from Turner Bend

Post by Turner Bend » Wed May 13, 2009 10:39 am

An orange canoe like this one was stolen from Turner Bend on April 16th. Thieves helped themselves while we were trying to finish up a busy day. The serial # is BCKO-8545. Inside the canoe in the stern we had written the Turner Bend # 08-1. This boat had only been used one season. If you see something suspicious and wish to contact us call 479-667-3641 or 479-209-1715. Thanks, Brad Wimberly

Lots of broke meth heds out their these days I guess. They broke into a friends house multiple times because they new their would be new stuff to steal each time. I guess they were comfortable doing so, because the last time they did it rob was home, his gate closed and locked with both vehicles out front of there house. After driving through the locked up gate, Robert stepped out with a shotgun and started firing there way. The culprits stomped it in reverse and got out of there. They are getting braver all the time. I'll bet we will have to consider arming ourselves just to go buy groceries before all is said and done. :x

Does Rob live in Saline County? That seems to be where all the houses are getting hit! Ours got hit middle of the day - would have ended differently had we been home and the dogs were in the house.

A shotgun and the thieves were allowed to leave?!! It would make a bit of a mess... too bad.

Yeah, that's what I thought also. I would've caused some damage it it were me. I guess he didn't want their blood on his hands. Out in Roland, "western Pulaski County" as elsewhere in many counties, the locals retaliate by just burning you out when your not home. Renee, I feel for you. Remember this, they might be back because they know your going to replace everything with new stuff. Get an alarm from Dave H. but remember too, theirs ZERO added security from monitoring. It's not worth it.
A set up like they do for cars out in Cali. would be the best. Put a siren or three inside so they can't even stand being in there, with a deep cycle battery for back up. It couldn't hurt to get a fire proof safe to safeguard all your important documents, deeds and jewelry.
You know whats better and cheaper than that however. Hang some VooDoo type stuff on the exterior of your house when your away. Most criminals are superstitious by nature.

p.s. Even Gumby to the left has issues. He can't go anywhere without his foil hat these days.
