So I met Neal and Terry over at Pennington Creek this afternoon as I was on my way to Texas (although I am still in Oklahoma). Wasn't expecting much based on what I had seen on AW, but I was pleasantly surprised. Good class II-III run with one or two III+'s and a pretty solid class V drop.

Here are some pictures:

Slippery Falls

Me below Devils Den, cool picture to show the scale of some of these awesome granite boulders.

Pennington Falls...there is a low-head dam, followed by some cross currents (all-over the place), a couple holes, and then that. Most the water wants you to go in that slot on the left. No takers today.

Follow the white foam trail home...

Another good day on the water.

Pennington is a very sweet run. I had run it once before, but at a much lower level. The granite boulders on Pennington are like nowhere else I have seen. The round granite bedrock of the the streambed, makes more playspots than you can count. And Pennington falls adds in the hairboater aspect of the run. It was great to paddle with you Matt  , I hope we can do it again sometime.
