Bear Creek (South Fourche Trib)

Post by J Cossey » Sun May 10, 2009 7:50 pm

Would really like to run this sometime. Water is optimal right now and expecting more rain tonight. Never been before so would really like somebody that has run it before to tag along. Im free tomorrow.

Just go up to the next low water bridge on the creek and put in. You get about a mile of fast class II or III. Just watch the trees. ty

Yep what he said. Be careful at the low water bridge(s). Trees are the hazard. Class II fast moving water.

doubt if there is enuf water- went earlier this year when s.f. was at 8.5' and it was extremely boney (cracked a cross-lnked hull) - went last week when s.f. was at 11' and it was good (put-in on trace into bear)- there is a make-shift gage on the takeout bridge and is best if u have (at least) "care bear 3", that's the third line under "care bear graffiti" - 1 or 2 is even better! there were a few trees down but not blockin the whole creek- jus be careful and paddle around-
hope this helps-mitch
sometimes i wonder
