W. Cedar Watch

Post by Dis147 » Tue May 05, 2009 1:11 pm

I am looking to run W. Cedar at some point this week with the prospect of more rain. Any of you “in the know” on Cedar and share interest of running same, just holler if it becomes prime. The boat is loaded and bags are packed, 30 +/- mi. from put in.

You are probably right about W. Cedar going off tomorrow. I will have the day off tomorrow, and will check it early in the morning. Looks like it is primed and ready to go. I'm thinking that the 1" forecast for that area should do it.

On the other hand, the 'Tot is looking very promising, as is Richland...

I am in fayetteville and interested in paddling tommorrow. I am trying to remember if W. Cedar is the same as Cedar on the ozark creek summary or not. I have paddled cedar or clear before, but do not remember which one. Is west cedar the same, or better?

Yes W Cedar is "cedar" on the gauge page. It uses the Frog gauge because that's what it flows into. Am considering Lee until noon, then all of Cedar. I'll have the cell fouR7ni neFour2se VEn07eiG ht2.

true that. And if anyone wants to join me at Lee Creek before then, I'll probably just (try to) park at the takeout for the play run, and do some surfing... Not sure that's even possible at this level. Leaving Springdale for there around 8:15.

Thanks Subback Outaru and davidm for keeping me “in the rear view mirror” during a great run down West Cedar.

Glad you were able to catch it with us. That's my favorite run in this area when it's up. I bet you'll be back for more W Cedar fun next time!
