Mulberry Sat 4/25 - Central Caravan

Post by Lupe » Thu Apr 23, 2009 4:47 pm

Several of us from Central area are gonna roll out towards the Mighty Mulberry on Saturday...expect to leave around 8am outta Little Rock and arrive stream-side around 10ish. Haven't decided section yet...probably High Bank to Byrds or Redding to Turner Bend, but who knows?

This would be a good chance to wet your boat before next weekend's WW School if you're signed up (or just a darn tootin' beautiful sunny day on the water)! Give a shout if you want to join up. Will post details of section assuming we get that puzzled out by Saturday am...

If I don't see ya on the Mulberry Saturday, I'll see you at PADDLE FOR THE PLANET on Sunday! :D

Cheers,
Heather aka Lupe

I would really like to go too. Will check with Gary. What do you think of the water levels in 2 days, do you think they will drop much?

I'm staying at Ouachita Haven this weekend, so I'm going to try to do something closer like the Caddo. If it doesn't work out, I'll definitely be heading your way though. I paddled High Bank to Byrd's a couple weeks back (at 2.4 I think) and it was nice.

Nice friendly level expected on Saturday, Karla.

Roman - I'd think you'd want to stick closer to the Ouachita, but heck, driving a little further at that point must be no big deal at all to you!

I'll be away from the 'puter tomorrow...will check back and post again tomorrow night.

Later gaters

Gary and I have decided to do the dragover with the Kruegers. Didn't want to drive that far esp. if we are doing Paddle for the Planet Sunday.
Anyone is welcome to join us on the dragover that doesn't want to drive further.

Alrighty - 3 or 4 of us still planning to head West in the morning. Probably heading to Turner Bend...eta 10ish. Think we'll do Redding to Turner Bend. I'll check around 7am to make sure we have no latecomers or if anyone else wants to meet up to shuttle. We'll be working on some drills for ww school, so we'll be moving at a kinda slow pace down the river (just fyi!).

Saturday was a fabulous trip to be on the Mulberry. Susan and I truly enjoyed the day. Thanks to Heather and Liz for all your guidance. It was a pleasure to meet you Drew - hope we cross paths soon.

Mike
