Ark Kayak/Canoe Adventure Weekend 4-24, 25 Paddle4theplanet

Post by KAYAKN » Wed Mar 18, 2009 10:15 am

Hey Paddling, Biking, Hiking Compadre's
The Bayou Chapter Ozark Society will be camping at http://www.ouachitahaven.com/" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; from 4-24 to 4-25 then heading over to http://www.paddle4theplanet.com/" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; on 4-26. We will just be hanging out eating good food, hiking, biking, boating or whatever you want to do. This will be just a all around fun weekend to meet a bunch of folks and hang out with great friends. We may have some one on one (PRIVATE, YOU WILL BE RESPONSIBLE FOR YOURSELF ) help if anyone needs it. Maybe we could have a knot class, intro gear class(kinda show what you really need on the water). Something for newbies to the sport. The Womble trail is near, the Caddo river and many areas of fun are within a 30 min. drive. Maybe we could have a dutch oven cook off?? These are all just ideas to get folks together that love the outdoors. Post or thoughts and ideas and we will see what happens. You are responsible for making your own reservations.

I am going to do what I can to be there.

I think I have my campsite for Friday and Saturday night. My plans on Saturday will be determined by what still has water this weekend. Worst case, I'd at least like to make some laps on Dragover. I'll be coming alone, but I hope your family can make it!

Count me in. I won't make it til around 9 or so Fri night but I'll be there.
As a new member of BCOS, and ACC ArkLaTex I look forward to meeting everyone!

PS Adam, I guess my brain is still tired from this weekend, I did read all of your post about reservations but it didn't sink in til the second time around.

    Adam, etc:

Let's toss around some trips and times for Friday based on no more rain. Dragover at 10:00 to allow at least two loops? Glenwood at 10:30 for the Caddo? How about Pine Ridge or Shirley Creek at 10:30? :D I like these two & that'd leave Dragover for the bigger group on Saturday.

I'm planning to paddle somewhere on Saturday. The upper stretch of the Caddo looks decent. Maybe we could do that in the morning and then do laps on Dragover in the afternoon. I'm bringing my hiking and biking gear, but hoping not to use it! lol
