Who Owns Wildlife?

Post by Gordon Kumpuris » Wed Apr 22, 2009 1:13 pm

Got the below email from the Clinton School Lecture series. Open to the public. Sounds interesting. Thought I'd share....

Who Owns Wildlife?

David Western, founder of the African Conservation Centre (ACC), will give a Clinton School lecture titled "Who Owns Wildlife?" about the gap among local, national and global interests related to wildlife preservation. Western has spent 37 years in Kenya studying the interactions among livestock, wildlife and humans, with the aim of developing conservation strategies applicable on an ecosystem scale. The mission of ACC is to bring together the people and skills needed to build East Africa 's capacity to conserve wildlife through sound science, local initiatives and good governance.
