For more details you can read "Hell or High Water". The book documents the tribulations of people on the trip but not so much on the kayaking.

dead on spanke.Tsangpo is HUGE :shock: !You know its big when steve fisher is getting worked.Makes the Zambezi look like class 3.

I think they ran it in winter as to have lowest flows possible.BRRRR. Most difficult logistically difficult expedition to date.Props to lindgren and crew.Hadnt seen this in a couple years,cool vid.Thanks for the link.

I highly recommend the book "The Last River" by Todd Balf.

Gave me chills to read about the tragic expedition to be the first to paddle the Tsang Po....as there were several paddlers in the book that I had met during my slalom racing years...which gave it that extra close-to-home feeling.

The peelout Fischer does out of that eddy though is the sickest thing i've ever seen anyone pull in a kayak. That eddywall makes room of doom on the gauley look easy. A lifetime of work to be that good.
