The news lady is awesome, "I guess there must be a specific way to fall...". Not like that. Way to go though, and rockin' a purple boat. VOTE FOR PEDRO.

I'm not sure I agree this should count. Tyler Bradt had a much cleaner run on the 107ft record.

Oh it definately counts. He even stayed in his boat..despite having his paddle break. He exited his boat from behind the curtain and walked..er...strolled on out in style. I'd say it counts well. And yes, Bradt had a cleaner run...but twenty feet or so less to fall...and a smaller river too.
127 feet..WHOA..I don't even drive that far.
Good stuff.

See Jackson kayak web site. 2-3 bits on this, including session on NBC Today Show by Pedro and Ben Stookesberry. And that's about 80-90 feet higher than I'd care to fall in a boat.
Let there be rain!

May not have it's share of whitewater, but it's still the greatest country in the union. I just dont like feeling like I'm paddling a barrel. I'll take my Magnum 72 every day of the week.

Ok so I think the boat design played a very very small part in the whole matter.... I mean the guy needed a creek boat simply to provide enough room for his nuts. I am sure the extra volume helped to keep them afloat as well. Jackson kayaks do have an edge in this area with that nice soft happy seat thing. Other manufactures have contraptions to hold wate bottles down and stuff which may have helped keep them in place a little better.

But alas, enough about his nuts. Hucking yourself off of a huge waterfall and not paddling away from it is like a pole vaulter who hits the bar on the way back down and still claims he set record for making it over the bar. Or a motorcycle daredevil who does not ride away from a jump. So on merit its very impressive that the guy threw himself off of it and all but I have to agree that the person who does a huge drop and paddles away is much cooler, even if it is 20-40 feet less.

So I think they should call it a "World Record Waterfall Attempt" since he did not paddle away from it. I know I am raining on the parade a little. Again I am impressed just offering some clarity.

its kinda like when the pole vaulter hits the bar the bar goes 2 feet straight up and then lands back on the standards. I lost my state meet my junior year to this. it sucked but thats life.

end of rant back to waterfalls.

:D Carped out is right suckerbill!Ol Pedro is team JK so you know he actually planned to run it over the bars & head 1st, that way he doesnt damage his awesome JK boat w/ the impact! After all he knew w/ that awesome boat design he would survive regardless of how bad he botched the drop! Dont even get me started on this one. The dude duped out and resurfaced BEHIND the waterfall.Among those I boat w/ I bet all would agree he definitely did not stick it, he blew it and behind the falls is Not where you want to resurface!! I agree w/ Ben and suckerbill an ATTEMPT is more like it. That Pedro dude does not get props from me. I saw him botch several big drops in hotel 3 and then try to convince coombs and stookesberry to let him run a 140. They did NOT seem to like the sketchy situation he was putting them in.He was even doing some gay sun salutation pose and reciting some BS about "this moment is perfect,I like this moment and this drop!"Cmon what a joke man!Obviously his junk must be way larger than his brains! He was obviously going to kill himself on that drop and his boys were not down. This IMHO means he is a TOOL!Not a respected world record holder. If he would have styled it like Tyler or Paul Gamache in BC then I would say props, but he definitely did NOT stick it!Therefore No Props, just another  sketch boater w/ a blown line and blind luck w/ overblown claims of a new record to market boats!I say if it counts then put a footnote that states he looked like a turd floating off on his head while tyler and paul showed style and grace w/ their lines!

Even with a horrible horrible run the boat is still in perfect condition! I agree with everyone what an amazing boat! My Jefe didn't even make it down broken nose....
