I'm new to the sport but very excited to get started. I live in Ft Smith and was wondering if anyone knows a good place around the area that I can get some practice on the water. I want a spot to practice rolling and just get comfortable on the water. I am in Kansas City through the weekend and will be able to start Monday. I would like to get on a river Tuesday or Wednesday. If anyone has a suggestion on where to go to practice and then a good place for a beginner run, I'd love to know.
Thanks a ton

I'm sure one of the River Valley members will give you a better answer ... when they get back from being on the rivers all weekend, but I seem to recall that they have a pool that they practice in someplace in Ft Smith. Not sure of the schedule though. Failing that find a spotter and head to the nearest lake for roll practice. Just be sure you can wet-exit and have that spotter around incase you manage to get stuck.

Last Fort Smith roll session was last Wednesday night.
Next meeting of the RV Chapter in Ft Smith is Tuesday April 14th at La Hurtcha downtown on Garrison. Come on by around 6:00 PM and get acquainted.
Just curious, you going to see the Eagles in KC? My daughter is headed over there tomorrow for that show. Should be a good one if it doesn't get snowed out.

Nope, no Eagles. Here for business. I did see the Globe Trotters though, free tickets.
