Jackson VS Liquid Logic for a Novice

I am not trying to start any sort of argument here, but I have found both a used Jackson 2-fun and a comparable LL in about the same price range. I have never paddled a Jackson but they have been highly recommended to me. I did learn to paddle on a LL playboat back in the day, but I don't remember the series. Which one would be better for a novice boater?

Liquid logic better seat, backband, and plastic.

I have a Jackson fun and wouldn't trade it for the world. But, I just bought a pirahna micro 240 and really like it too. The jackson is great for playboating, because I'm on the upper end of the weight limit and I can throw it around easily. On the other hand ,I tried creekin' in it and had my butt handed to me on more than one occasion to include stitches in the forehead and being broached. So I guess what I would say is, weigh your options and decide what you want out of your boat. Paddle them both, if you can. Then decide which one feels right. Good luck

I'm assuming that the Liquid Logic similar to a Jackson 2Fun would be either a Trigger, Remix, or CR125? Hard to compare without knowing the other boat. As far as the Jackson goes, the Fun hull is a proven "beginner" kayak. Its stable, forgiving, and easy to roll given all other things equal. Liquid Logic typically builds "driver" boats. From my point of view they have a more aggressive hull design (typically). With materials, the Liquid Logic boat would be a linear plastic versus the Jackson Crosslink plastic. In the past, crosslink plastic boats have typically lasted longer and would be a more sturdy plastic. That being said, new plastic technology and design do lend themselves to building boats out of linear plastic that will definitely stand the test of time.

3.15 cents....easy as pie....buy a boat and don't look back.
