Saturday Float On The Caddo

Post by Jim Krueger » Thu Jan 29, 2009 9:39 pm

The weather is forecast to be 59 and Sunny on Saturday so far, so I thought I'd see if there was any interest in a Caddo trip. At present levels and seasonal conditions, I would think the river will still be about 5.75-80 feet by then, a good level for the trip from Glenwood's Game&Fish Ramp down to Amity's Hwy 182 Game&Fish Ramp. The birdwatching should be good, for those out front :) I would think a meeting time of 10:15-30 am at Glenwood ,then an 11 am put-in after shuttling?

Best Regards
Jim

Trip is still on for tomorrow. If you've been mouldering around at home too long, this might be that delightful break. Marlo and I will be floating either the trip from Glenwood downstream or other section as requested. Clear, very cold class 1+ water, but very nice sunshine&air temperatures. I'm still on schedule to meet in Glenwood about 10:30 for any other interested floaters.

Guess we will back out for tomorrow. I am tired and feel I need some rest tomorrow, a sleep in. Not rested much this week. Hope to go the next good rain.

Hi Jim and Marlo, I was to tired to get on computer last night. Didnt realize Caddo was a possibility! What a beautiful day today is. Ill have to watch this board better. I am not a big fan of cold weather but feel comfortable on the Caddo enough to paddle it.If yall plan again maybe someone in the group could call me if you dont see me on this board, 870-310-0034,cell.I have been missing everyone and look forward to paddling. Will Do Minna! I made note of your number.

Yesterday was indeed a nice day and I just know we will have some more like it fairly soon. You'll have to refresh my memory on where you've paddled on the Caddo before. I'm hoping we can make a trip or two from the Swinging Bridge to Glenwood when the water level is in the upper 6 foot to 7 foot range, and before the bulk of the traffic picks up as it warms. All the sections are good in one way or another! We'll look forward to your delightful company anytime. :D

Best Regards
Jim
