Twin Falls
Twin Falls
Anyone care to advise on which is the quicker hike in to twin falls, from the top down or from the campground up. Thanks, Todd
Re: Twin Falls
you do know the trail from the campground has to cross Falling Water Creek and then back over Richland to get to Twin Devil confluence? It's an easy trail and hike if you don't mind the creek crossings. There is another trail that heads that way on the north side of Richland at the campground but it peters out at Upper Screw Up and becomes a much harder hike from there up. I've never hiked in from above Twin Falls but did boat it once. It's seems pretty easy to get to the Falls if you know the trailhead parking area.....just follow the creek from there.
Re: Twin Falls
There is an old logging road that goes from Hill Cemetary to the south. It will take you most of the way to the Twin Falls (you come out between them).
To get to Hill Cemetery, you will need to take an old jeep road from Iceledo Gap down the hill (to the south). The road is rugged but kept open by folks who have family buried in the cemetery. Four-wheel drive is recommended.
From the parking area at the cemetery, look for a trail that leads to the west. You will follow this for 30-40 yards, and then the trail turns south. It goes to an old in-holding that is 2/3 of the way to the Falls. Just keep Big Devils Fork on your left as you hike the rest of the way.

Re: Twin Falls
Just returned from an attempt to hike in from the cemetery. We followed the trail that leads down the hill and across big devils, and continues around the mountain with BDF on your right. After cleaning the wood out of the creek a few years back me and some other folks walked back out that way. I assumed there would be a trail somewhere that would lead off of the hill to the falls but I never saw one. When we got to the point where I could see confluence of BD and LD we decided to just bushwhack off the side of the mountain to the falls. After a quick break my 16 year old son informed me that he wasn't feeling to well and after a short question and answer session I discovered that the only thing he had eaten all day was a banana. Needless to say he was completely out of gas and we made the decision to head back. Didn't get the replies till I got back home. Will try one of the suggested routes next time. Thanks for the replies.
