Mad River Adventure 14

Post by RomanLA » Wed Oct 15, 2008 7:44 pm

Anyone tried one of these out? It looks like a recreational kayak with a huge cockpit. I'm mainly looking to get my girls out on some flatwater. I'm kinda debating if I want to get something like this or get a small whitewater canoe and let them sit in the flotation areas. :D

We bought a used Adventure 14 about 1.5 years ago. We have used it for fishing on the King's River and the Little Red, surfing it at Fisher's Ford with my teenage boys and running some class 2 on the Frog with my 9 year old daughter. The boat is well made and very comfortable. Most people that see it on the water wonder what in the world it is but really freak when they see it surf. I know what you are thinking...it surfs because it has a flat bottom and nice weight distribution if you sit in the middle seat. I would highly recommend this boat if you get it on the cheap like we did.
