Re: Arkansas Tech Roll Sessions - Spring Semester
Hey Doug:
I think Tech lets students go in now on Thursday nights and practice for free ... is that right ... if so, will they offer that again in the Spring?
Hallie wanted to go this Fall but had 1 night class, the night the pool was open for kayaks.
thanks and Happy Holidays,
Susan T

Re: Arkansas Tech Roll Sessions - Spring Semester
Susan, the thursday nights weren't free, it depended on how many people showed up but we typically paid 2 or 3 dollars a person. However, last time only Phil and myself showed up, so we canceled the rest of the sessions for fall semester. I don't know what the plans are for the spring semester yet.

Re: Arkansas Tech Roll Sessions - Spring Semester
Hi, Susan, this is Phil Choi,
We are not exactly official, yet. The student government association voted, but I haven't heard anything since. I seriously doubt we would know the result until the school resumes.
Anyway, we can't reserve the pool as a student organization, unless we pay the regular fee (rent + lifeguard).
And, like Jason said,
we had to pay the lifeguard ($10/hr). So we paid $2.00 per night, sometimes more than $2.00 when less than 10 people showed up (the Spring Roll Session is $3 per night no matter what). Also when no one showed up without telling me, I had to pay out of my own pocket. So at this point, it's 50:50.
And the reason we decided to cancel was b/c less people showed toward the end of semester.
So, even if we become official, bu fund isn't there, same thing will happen.
I'm sorry that I can't help more.
But if anyone who has questions regarding the paddler's club, please feel free to contact me via e-mail (choiphillip@gmail.com) or the phone (479-967-4290)
