Winter paddling clothing choice:

Post by Monsoon » Mon Dec 08, 2008 9:49 pm

Ok so I bought what I could afford, for now at least. I want to see if you guys have a comment about the gear. I tried it all on and it was pretty snug but comfortable.
Heres my list:
1. NRS Wavelight top and bottom
2. Hydroskin top and bottom
3. NRS Endurance paddle pants
4. Immersion Research Long Sleeve Zephr paddle jacket (no waist gasket)
5. ATB wet shoes
6. smart wool socks

So I was pretty darn hot in all this and took a few extra minutes to put on than my normal gear.
I am wondering if you think I might be a little too warm unless I actually swim....in the winter and early spring. Anyway....thanks for you input in advance.
Boatin' life has lit the fire. Let's have a party!!

Take along a dry-bag and peal off layers until you're comfortable... Also, pack a spare piece of fleece in it in case you need a little more. You might also pack along a fleece helmet liner... just in case. There's no magic formula, since everyone's thermostat is different. (also pack something to start a fire with... just in case you do swim...) Only experience will let you fine-tune your gear...
