kayak as luggage...

Does anyone know roughly how much it is to bring a kayak as luggage on a flight? thinkin about taking a big trip next year and i cant find any info on bringing my boat along...

thanks. i think were gonna stick with driving, it will be lots cheaper. but if i ever leave the U.S. to do some paddling, ill know!

If you do decide to travel via air with your boat, use a boat bag. It makes your life much easier when attempting to get your boat in, through and out of the airport. Further, although oddly sized (I travel with a slalom boat), having it in a bag also greatly streamlines the discussion at the ticket counter.
