CADRON SETTLEMENT TO SANDBAR SUNDAY NOV 9

Post by Richard » Sat Nov 08, 2008 1:19 pm

About 2pm I will be taking my son's dog's to a sandbar in the Arkansas river to give them a chance to run free. We will paddle 6/10 mile to the sandbar. The dogs and I will most likely stay there for an hour or so before heading back to the launch area.

I will be launching from the Cadron Settlement launch ramp. This is no longer operated by the Corps of Engineers. It is much better under the control of the City of Conway. There is no charge for launching or use of the park. The exception is that for a fee you can reserve the pavilion.

There is much to see and do at Cadron Settlement. Picnic tables and grills, overlooks of the Arkansas River, beautiful sunsets, trails, Blockhouse and Trail of Tears historical markers. A great place to visit.

You are welcome to join us for all or part of our adventure. It should be a beautiful day.

Note how the sandbar has moved: Blue is new sandbar.

We are all afflicted with Cognitive Dissonance. The greater our religious, social, financial or political affiliation, the greater the affliction. We hear what we want to hear. We believe what we want to believe. Truth becomes irrelevant.
