You were in front of me on 80 today, noticed your ACC sticker. Just wanted you to know...that was just a friendly fellow paddler and not some weirdo trying to get you to stop and chat.

That would be me. When I realized you were probably an La. Tech fan or paddler who had seen my window decals, I was sure hopeful to hear from you. Back in the 70's I was robbed at knifepoint after stopping to help someone and am maybe still a little suspicious.
The ACC is FABULOUS!!! Every member I've met is incredible!! I was blessed to join this spring and attend Whitewater School Rendezvous, and two paddling trips. MARVELOUS is how I'd describe every one I've met.
My name is Louis Covington and my cell phone is 834-4771. My email is Louiscov@aol.com. I'm PM'ing some more info & would enjoy hosting you for coffee or lunch to discuss paddling and ACC sometime soon.

Now see, to me, this is what the Arkansas Canoe Club is all about. Reaching outside it's normal boundaries and uniting people all the way down here in LA. That's pretty cool!

For those ACC members living in NW LA, I would highly recommend joining the Bayou Chapter of the Ozark Society as well. Great group of people. Many of them are members of the ACC

I must chime in here also. It was about a month or so ago, on a trip to Dragover, I met our new member Louis Covington. I have met so many really pleasant and fun ACC paddlers over the years but I must say; I think Louis gets my vote for the 'Mr. Rogers' Award!

Great to find out about more folks from our area getting into paddling. I look forward to paddling with you some day, Louis.
Yes Adam, I did find a local surf hole at the Bisteneau lake spillway during drawdown. It was at it's prime when you were out east recently, but, gone now. It was small and shallow, but good for 360s and low angle cartwheels. Funky black water, though. I thought about calling channel 12 news to see if they wanted to come out and do a story, since the one about me being in Red on July 4th '07 was so misinformed.

Im proud to say that I am a "card carrying" member of both BCOS and ACC. Since Im in south AR this works for me. As someone once told me about BCOS "if you cant have fun with those people it's your own d@#n fault!' Minna
