Suger Cr. woods heads up...
Me, Grant & Danno ran sugar yesterday at about 1.5 to 1.7 on the bridge guage. At that level there was some new nasty wood in some bad places. Like towards the end of a couple of the jungle entries. The places when you run it and say man that would suck if there was a tree across right here. One really dangerous one and had a close call on is about 3/4 or so a mile above knobbers ford bridge in the jungle above stairstep rapid. At higher flows 2 feet and above you float over it, but at this lower flow I had to ramp over it and barely teeter tottered over a massive log that is not going anywhere. Would of been a very ugly pin with alot of water on my back.

you forgot to mention the tree claimed an inflatable yesterday. luckily the rider went under the tree, but his boat didn't.
inflatables don't boof very well. anyone finding a 34" skidder innertube please leave it in plain sight so the local owner can find it.

Re: Suger Cr. woods heads up...
thanks for posting that.. those of us that have run Sugar since June 2008 (and maybe before that) have observed this hazard.
I just have not gotten around to updating the comments/hazards on the AW site for this reach about this hazard. I just did.
With my departure from AR coming soon, it would be nice if someone local would become the AW streamkeeper for Sugar and Jack so such hazards can be noted.
