Can anybody get a visual on either Lee Creek or West Cedar today. Can't get away till about 4:00. Would love to get an afternoon run in today if they make it. Don't really know how they wouldn't. But if someone happens to check, please post something.
Thanks,

Re: Visuals
Send me your phone number and I'll call and you a visual report on Lee.
A ranger told me that they opened up the dam gates at the park this morning to prevent it from breaking again.
I should be at the park around 1 and will give you a call once I make it to cell phone reception.

Re: Visuals
Just got a call from Half Ton...he said that Lee is running. He said the lake was full and had been for a while. So Lee should be a go this afternoon.

Re: Visuals
MAN!!! I wish I could go tonight. Should be awesome. hopefully it will still be churning on Saturday.
Boatin' life has lit the fire. Let's have a party!!
Re: Visuals
Monsoon, I'm not sure that Lee will still be there on saturday for whitewater.
True it was 9 ft today and running from Devils Den down was fast, but that water sure does runoff really quickly to the lower reaches of the river.
It may be barely floatable still at the 220 put in to ACC takeout on sat, but I wouldn't count on it for whitewater.
I'm not sure bout the river from ACC takeout to Natural Dam, but it just may have plenty of water left for the good ole Lee Creek Cleanup this weekend. You should come if you can and help clean up the trash from all of the water.
Afterall, I have talked a fair amount of trash (no pun intended) about how many more NW ACC folk will be out than River Valley ACC folk. Judging that it was 1 NW member at the river today and 3 RV'ers......the river valley crew just may represent their love for Lee Creek more by coming out to help clean up the extraordinary resource water that we all love.
So definitely keep Lee Creek in mind for this saturday for floatin', plus you could win a sweet Chatooga watershed dry bag.....or somethin' else cool from an outdoor store.

Re: Visuals
No prob JR. I was glad to help out. In fact, thank you for offering to haul off that nasty diaper, glass, and river booty filled river trash !
Note: The RV chapter has the lead in the contest for who loves Lee Creek more (as determined by stewardship and attendance).....JR and Max hualed off some trash from the river yesterday because they can't make the cleanup and they wanted to help out with the effort.
RV: 2 NW: 1
And, I do have the sneaking suspicion that some other ACC'ers from NW or RV have already done some pre cleaning because the 220 access and ACC takeout were much more clean than they were 1 month ago.....
I also applaud those sneaky and anonymous individuals
