Remmel Dam to Rockport

Post by Steven » Wed Aug 27, 2008 8:42 pm

Hello,
Brand new to the site. I stretch my neck to look at the water everytime I drive over the Ouachita on I30. Can someone provide some info on put in point, float length, and what to expect from Remmel to Rockport.

Welcome to the club. You would usually get a lot of responses but it seems a lot of club members headed East for the long weekend.

Remmel to Rockport is a great starting river. It is similar to Buffalo. Put in at the Dam. You can drive down, unload your boat below the dam, then drive back up and leave your vehicle in the parking lot. There is a path to walk back down to the dam. It is about a 2 hour float. Water is really clean and a few fun rapids. Then, you get one big splash at Rockport. Stay close to the left when you get to Rockport.

Watch the board and you'll probably see some members hit that trip this weekend.

Be sure and make it to Rendevous on Sat. Sept. 13th and Sun. 14th. Weekend will be kid friendly as well. We will float from Remmel one day and probably the Caddo (beautiful) the other day, with several clinics to chose from as well. FUNNEST weekend all year!
