UALR POOL SESSION 8-20

Post by JTarver » Wed Aug 20, 2008 5:46 am

On schedule. Be warned however, if the rain keeps up they may close the pool. If this happens...I will try to post as soon as I know something.

The potential for lightning is the reason it would close. It's possible for the lightning to penetrate through the building and into the pool. So say's the pool managment.

Absolutely right there Bob Diddly. However, the rain appears to b e subsiding here, so I'm betting things will be fine.

For a more detailed description the current synoptic pattern does not favor convective activity, thunderstorms. With a low to the southwest and a warm front to the south, this creates an overrunning situation favoring widespread, stratiform precipitation...the kind that is good for paddling in Arkansas. Isolated convection cannot be ruled out as we get some afternoon heating however this chance is minimal at best for today.

Wish I wasn’t at work all week.

Man, I just love it when he talks weather! :D
I've heard that into every life a little of it must fall,
but you'll never catch me complaining about too much of that southern rain.
