Surf & Turf -- update and final message

Post by Kim Tucker » Fri Jul 25, 2008 5:25 pm

It's tomorrow! There will be a banner on the gate by around 11:00, but if you come earlier, just come on in. I'll be there around 10:00. The gate will be unlocked before then. (It looks locked, but is not)

Food will begin to be served around 12:30. If you have something to contribute to the pot luck, try to have it there before 12:15. As always, bring your own drinks!

Just an FYI -- (and maybe a bit of a plea for help). Porterfield generally looks good. The grass was mowed today. (THANKS, MALVERN!!) However, there is lots of micro-trash, primarily cigaratte butts and pop tops from another user group (NOT BOATERS). I spent about an hour picking up this afternoon and hardly made a dent. I'll be at it again tomorrow before we set up, so if you want to come early and spend about 10-15 minutes helping. If enough folks do that, we can get the place looking like it should. If you do, you might want to bring some plastic gloves or I'll have some hand santizer around.

If you intend to camp at Porterfields tomorrow night. I'd appreciate it if you let me know. Not a big deal if you don't tell me, but it would help if I knew who is there.

Thanks!
Kim Tucker

I should also be there around 10am with the tables. I will have 5 people with me and we are going to paddle down from Remmel. I am looking for a way to shuttle a driver back to Remmel to pick up the car after the float and before 2pm.

Richard, Emily and Craig may want to join your downriver float. But if we're not there by 10, don't wait on us. Shuttle shouldn't be a problem. How many boats in your party?

Randy, I am bringing two canoes. Four adults and two children.

I was thinking about taking all of ya'll up there and then we wouldn't have to worry about shuttle at the end. I can get all the boats on my van but I don't know if i can get 9 people into the van for the ride up. We'll see when we get there.

Like I said, if we're not there by the time ya'll are ready to go, don't wait on us.

I've got your cell #. I'll call you if we're not gonna make it in time.
