Question for everyone

Hello, I’m only a novice paddler. I found this Blue Hole and fell in love with the wood trim and came seats. My question concerns whether I should refinish the wood with traditional stain/polyurethane or whether there is something more specialized I should use. Thanks for any and all suggestions.

Great looking boat. I would lightly sand with 220. I would put a spar-varnish on it. I like the marine grade Waterlox. Lmk if I can help out any more.
