I am planning a float of the Buffalo river in May, planning on 7-8 days. I've floated the upper Buffalo many times and am practicing kayak camping around my local lake when I can. I looked through twenty years of rain data to minimize the total number of days I may be getting rained on.
I would however appreciate tips, experiences, or lessons learned from others who have done this or a significant stretch themselves please. I would also appreciate any leads on pictures of local landmarks that I could use to recognize my surroundings and location on my map when I'm actually out there.
Thank you,
Eric

Just saw this. You might post this to the Arkansas Canoe Club's FB page. Lots more traffic. Also the "Our Buffalo RIver" FB page. Hard to predict water levels for a "float the whole river" trip. Most look at March or April given the prospect for rain. Don't worry about getting rained on, just plan for it.
You might start planning your shuttle. Long way from Ponca to Buffalo City or Shipps Ferry.
Hope it works out for you.
