Arkansas Canoe Club - Northwest Chapter

Over the year we heard that the Chapter does not have enough Club oriented floats, well here you go! The Northwest Chapter is organizing monthly float trips. These will primarily be held on class I rivers or lakes. New paddlers are welcome!

The first float will take place on November 11th. We will float from the Siloam Springs Kayak Park to Hwy 59 camp ground. To kick off our membership drive floats the NW Chapter of the Arkansas Canoe Club will be picking up the tab for event fees & shuttles. Canoes, Kayaks or Standup Paddle Boards are welcome! Yet on this float we should assume we will be getting wet & the water is below 60 degrees. This means thermal gear is required for this trip. (Wetsuit or dry suit) other rules are posted at bottom of this page.

Please meet at the 59 camp ground at 10 am.

Requirements:
ABSOLUTELY NO COTTON!
Anyone showing up in a t-shirt & shorts will not be allowed to participate.
You must have your own boat & gear
Closed toe shoes
Type 3 Canoe, Kayak or sailing life jacket
Wet suit or dry suits (Arkansas Outdoor Outfitters has a few to rent but contact them right away to reserve at arkansasoutdooroutfitters@yahoo.com)
Helmets are required for all participants (Arkansas Outdoor Outfitters has these too)
SUP riders must wear life jackets; no belly belts.

If I was to come, is there any tent camping available in the area? Too poor to afford a night in a hotel.
