Any interest in having some pool sessions in Fairfield Bay?

Post by whymyeye » Fri May 05, 2017 2:14 pm

Just throwing this out there for your consideration.

I am looking to see if anybody would be interested getting together for some pool sessions in Fairfield Bay. We have a very nice indoor pool and the manager is open to blocking out some time for us. Maybe a few hours on Sunday mornings or some such.

They haven't ever done anthing like this before so we would really have to act as ambassadors. If all goes well, we could have a year-round facility

My goals in trying to do this are mostly selfish. I am personally interested in learning to roll and having a warm place in winter to practice, but i also want to help promote paddling and other youthful outdoor activities here in the Bay.

FFB is only 15 minutes east of Clinton, 15 minutes west of Greers Ferry, and only 45mins-1hr from Conway.
We've got one of the nicest marinas on the lake and plenty more to do if you wanted to make a weekend of it.

What do you think? :kayak:

I know there is interest, but most of those interested probably won't see this post. Unfortunately we just don't get the traffic on the message board that we once did. I'd suggest putting something on our FB page, and I also recommend reaching out to a guy named Jeff Gannon. I'll send you his email address.
You come too.

Great! Thank you.

I spoke with Jeff over in Clinton and he's got some great ideas! Pretty sure we gonna make something happen. We need to just get a couple of people together soon to take a look at the facilities and work out the logistics.

We've also got a large area inside the wave break at the marina that might could be used for something while the weather is nice.

If anybody is familier with the Van Buren county area and has any suggestions, please give me a shout.
