Bayou DeView

Post by kru1 » Mon Mar 13, 2017 11:31 am

A group of us are heading there this weekend for our annual blackwater float trip. The gauge is reading 15.25' and it should hold around that level this weekend. I'm wondering if that is a high enough level to float Hwy 38 to Hwy 17. I have done that section once before, but it was years ago and I can't remember what the level was then. I don't mind dragging over a log or two, but would rather not make a full day it.

Thanks for any info,
kru

If you're on FB, contact Cowper Chadbourne. He will have the beta on that.

Thanks Roger,

Not on Facebook, thought I might find someone on here who has floated it. None the less, a group of 10 of us did it on Saturday. The gauge was right at 15' and none of us had to ever get out of our boat. Had to boof several log jams, but for me that was almost the highlight of the trip. I think it is a little over 9 miles and took us 5.5 hours to float. We stopped for lunch and fished a few ponds/lakes but nothing was biting so we didn't spend to much time fishing. Great section.
