What is it called and are they still available?

I have an 18' Grumman that is about 70 to 80 yrs. old and it has a wooden-slat removable floor that I would like to replace. It keeps my gear from laying in water that gets in the bottom of the canoe. There are 6 slats about 14' long and 1 1/4" wide ea. What do they call it? Are they still for sale? Where? Thanks for your help.

Have never seen one outfitted that way. Not sure the additional weight would be worth keeping gear off the bottom. With good dry bags/boxes and some occasional sponging, a little water in the boat isn't really a problem. Complete guess here, but I'd be surprised if they're commercially available. But wouldn't be too hard to find some lightweight western cedar or something similar and make what you need. How are they attached to the boat?

The set-up is attached to the floor at both end which slip into openings made into the canoe at the factory. The middle is held down with a bow tie looking deal that slips btw. two slats and turns to lock the floor in place.

That canoe that is for sale on craigslist is a monster of a boat! The BOC should buy it as a display piece for front of the store.
