Team Blackfly here Heading to the SSKP Noon
Team Blackfly here Heading to the SSKP Noon
Hello all,
I don't have too much to announce yet other then I have been communicating with Team Blackfly Canoes to get them to stop in Arkansas on their journey out west for a Canyon run. They have agreed and will stop in Northwest Arkansas on the weekend of May 21-22nd.
I want to make an event out of it, but I just don't exactly what it will entail. We will have one day at the Ford (aka Siloam Springs Kayak Park) for demo/skills/etc, and possibly another day on a stream.
I would like to get all open boaters together that weekend and have a great event, so there will be incentive for the to come back through in the future. Anyone got any ideas?

Might have to break out the ole Blue Hole OCA. Been too long since it's been wet.

Re: Team Blackfly coming to SSKP Sat 5-21 2-4:30pm
Sorry for the delay, I have been working out the details with Chris Loomis "Cheeks" of Team Blackfly.
We finally got everything ironed out this morning.
Team Blackfly will be at the Siloam Springs Kayak Park (the Ford)(https://goo.gl/maps/EVfJe5Zg2sq) this Saturday from 2:00-4:30pm (will probably get there a little early and leave a little late). They will bring all the open boats that they currently produce (Option, Octane 85-91-92, & Delta) & the prototype Condor to demonstrate. They will also provide advice on paddling skills & techniques. Furthermore, there will be several ACC canoe instructors there to assist Team Blackfly.
This event is open to everyone. This will be a great opportunity to not only try different boats, but also to try open boating for those of you that have always wanted to give it a shot. Please come out and help support this event. Hopefully it will be a success and will encourage other manufacturers (both kayak & canoes) to visit the mid south.
Post up if you have any questions, or shoot me an e-mail (brotianATgmail)
Hope to see you there,

If you have broken "Kayak" paddles, this would be a good time to bring them out.

I'm actually quite jealous, I hope there is a great turn out.

Re: Team Blackfly coming to SSKP POSTPONED
I hate to inform you that Team Blackfly's bus has broken down in Tennessee. They are replacing the alternator and will be on the road as soon as it is fixed. Today's (Saturday) event is postponed. We are hopeful that they arrive in Northwest Arkansas this evening, and if that is the case we will hold the event tomorrow (Sunday 5-22) instead. However, there is no guarantee that their bus gets fixed today.
I will post up in the morning with information about the event Sunday.
Sorry,
kru

Team Blackfly got here late last night. We are drinking coffee, motivating, and will be up at the Ford around 12:00pm.
Come on up and try some boats out.
