My girlfriend, who recently moved to Bentonville, and I (in NLR) had planned to meet tomorrow at Lake Dardanelle for a picnic and to piddle paddle around in the rec boats. Weather looks yucky for that. I'm thinking we'd be better off getting on a river, more likely on Sunday. Let me see if that'll "float" with her. She's had limited experience on whitewater and a stretch of middle Buffalo would be a good refresher.

I sold my open boat last Summer. It was one of only two Rampages anyone knew of in the state. What did you buy?

Will do. Looks like there's a decent flow at Hasty as of tonight. If it holds, that would be a good place for her to find her way to and meet up. She said she's open to that option since our plan A for tomorrow is unlikely to pan out.

BTW, having witnessed plenty of whitewater divorces, oh, and suffered one myself, you'd think I wouldn't even try to maintain a long-distance relationship by meeting to paddle in places where a directionally-challenged driver / novice paddler has never been. Any thoughts?

You may be out there camped somewhere, but if not, see my post. I'll be getting to the Gilbert store at 11 (ish)

Glad y'all hooked up. I had to go the ER in the wee hours, so my day started very late and infringed on tomorrow's plans. Have to stay local. Y'all have fun and I hope to be on the water soon.

had a great day on the river, got to take my grandson out in my new boat (to me) he is getting to be a good paddler, we joined up with Cowper Debo, Jon and the three Elkins Chris Dee and Mark, Got some tires and trash and found the missing dumpster in the river that floated down from Tyler bend in the flood. Oh we also saw Eddie and Stewart who was in his driftboat and he graciously hauled out three big tires in his boat whcih worked out great and I was able to give him a shuttle back to Bakers ford to retrieve his truck and trailer
