Once again I'm checking for interest in starting a Northeast Arkansas, Southeast Missouri, Northwest Tennessee chapter.
If I read the by-laws correctly, 15 members are needed to start a chapter.
Anyone interested, please contact me.
If you know of any 'outdoor' group in the area that might have possible interest, please let me know how to contact them.
I am attending a kayak/canoe club for Arkansas State tomorrow and may have a few prospects.

Northeast Arkansas Chapter Formation
Re: Northeast Arkansas Chapter Formation
Mark, I'm glad you posted because I had this very conversation with Jill Morris several weeks ago. I need to touch base with her again and will be sure to include you. Consensus is this is something that's needed to happen for a while.
You come too.

Re: Northeast Arkansas Chapter Formation
I checked over a year ago and got very little response (other than snide remarks about the area). This time I'm using Facebook groups in the area. So far I've received quite a few interested. If there is enough interest, or even close to the required number, I'll start pasting fliers around the area. Surely some of the bicycle/outdoor community would be interested.
I'm also checking Arkansas State University's canoe and kayak club. For $10 a year membership they can't go wrong.

I don't live in the area but would definitely be interested in joining on some floats as I spend a lot of weekends not far from Batesville. I also have private access to the Polk Bayou and Sullivan Creek which are both decent whitewater and very scenic if you have not ran those before.
