I'd like to paddle 3 miles of the N. Fork of the Ouachita River on Thursday, May 21, 2015, west and north of Jessieville. I have only seen the access points from the road crossings and have caught a few glimpses of the river from the roads in the area. It may be brushy or have fallen trees across it that will require portaging. It looks to be a Class I - II from what I have seen. The 3 mile stretch I am thinking of paddling starts and ends along the Ouachita National Forest Drive. The take-out would be at Bear Creek, about 10.8 miles west of highway 7. Below is a map that shows how to get to the take-out at Bear Creek. Post here if you are interested in coming along.
