I wanted to thank Clay and Rob for an awesome class. I am glad that this is now being offered side at WWS.
I went into doing this class knowing I would have allot to learn and that I would be challenged physically and mentally. Clay and Rob not only made all this a great learning experience but also made it fun. We did some hands on class room material along with drills on the river. They were able to tailor the class to the experience of our group, and with having 2 instructors they were able to split their time when needed. I am still absorbing the information that they gave us and the drills that they put us through. Learning the skills that they taught us in this class has given me much better confidence that if a fellow boater gets in trouble I will be able to act quickly and know more about what I should do in a rescue situation. I am definitely going to either take the course again or going back as a helper.
I hope in the future that this class is still offered at WWS it is a class I think every boater should take no matter the skill level, I know as soon as I can my son will be taking this course, so he can save me if needed :)

Re: Swift Water Rescue WWS
I assisted with the class on Sunday.
The weather was perfect,
we started with hands on ground work and moved to the river at lunch.
It just can't be stated enough how much I learn from every class.
Lurking in the background and assisting with small questions so the whole class doesn't have to stop
was a great format for me.
I know this is the first SWR at WWS in a while but I thought it was a perfect format for additional learning.
Maybe soon we could incorporate a CPR or basic first aid as a separate class.
After all, this is Whitewater School, not just how to paddle a boat school.
Great job from the instructors and all the students,
I would paddle with any of you anytime........
(I really appreciate Magic Mike for the photos..none of me by the way
