New members ACC, living in Bull Shoals

Does anyone live near us (Mountain Home, Harrison, Marshall area)? My wife and I are retired with time to pursue river and sea kayaking. I've trained SWWR L4. Get in touch!

Welcome, I am sure there are lots of members in your area.
Don't let the quiet on the message board fool you, this is the weekend of Whitewater School.
A lot of our members are at Turner Bend attending or giving classes.
Retired is the perfect schedule for a boater in Arkansas.
See ya on the river soon.......
Fighting for peace........
Isn't that like screaming for quiet?

Howdy and welcome to the Ozarks! are any of those JK boats whitewater? or do you only paddle rec. boats?
Soon our rivers will get too low and we go to the Spring river often. Good for WW or Rec. boats and can be as wild as mardi gras on holiday weekends. Your not far from the north fork of the white river and Bryant creek if you haven't been there yet.
Where did you move here from?

We have JK Rogues, river runners good to class 3. I may or may not be good for class 3...out of practice due to Texas draught. So we 2 would like to explore some class 2. Hope we get some with the weather warming. And we'll have to backtrack to Houston for most of May. BTW, I've trained level 4 SWWR but have to practice rescue skills as well. So, I or both of us will hope to join some boaters for something slightly more advanced than a float when we're back near June.

Welcome to the Natural State! Sorry about the delayed response, but as paddledog said, we were all at WW school. Generally speaking if something is running and you want to paddle it but don't know if anyone will be there I'd suggest posting in the Paddling Trips section.

Specifically speaking, there are two great upcoming opportunities for you to meet and paddle with a bunch of ACC members.

First, the School of River Paddling (formerly Recreational Paddling School) will be held on the Spring river June 6-8. If you're free that weekend please consider this a personal invitation to hop onto 62 and come on over. Only a beautiful hour and a half drive from Bull Shoals and it's a hoot! Many members will be teaching all day, but many other members will just be there to help out as needed and have a good time. If you want specific info click the tab in the Event section on the web site, or feel free to PM me or ask here in the thread.

Second, go ahead and reserve September 18-20 for Rendezvous. It's a big family friendly weekend long party that's attended by club members (and nonmenbers) from all over Arkansas, Texas, Louisiana, Oklahoma and elsewhere. We even had the honor of hosting a couple of canucks last year. You'll meet lots of fellow paddlers then. There's also a Rendezvous tab in the Events section.

Hope to SYOTR soon!
You come too.
